he has a history of being a bit of an **** and it showed up in some interviews so it's not all that shocking.
He was a great addition to Columbus. Hopefully these are just rumors and he didn't come to the US for one fat paycheck before taking a retirement tour in Argentina.

You say one of the worst teams, but Schelotto did make a difference.

Columbus was stocked with young players and needed a field general. Schelotto improved the team just by stepping on the pitch. What's sad is that Columbus actually stood to improve next season. The young guys are a year older, they have high draft picks, good prospects and a lot of money to spend.

The Crew isn't Real Salt Lake or Toronto FC. The Crew actually has good talent. Just a piss poor coach and no onfield leadership.

Sigi is waaaaay overrated. Of course, I hear Arena needs a job.

Had he played for a different team, one with success, you think he would have stayed. Oh, and if he lived in a climate somewhat like home instead of Ohio?

January 4, 2008  01:15 PM ET

I bet if he played in Cali, he would have stayed.

Playing in Columbus isn't optimal. If he goes home, then thanks for the memories.

I doubt he'll play for another Argentine club. All those years in Boca and now he wants to play for another team?

This is utter hogswallop.
My south american sources tell me that Argentinian papers are noted for gratuitously printing this type of rumor in the offseason.
GBS is under contract to Columbus for next season, but don't let those unnecessary things called facts get in the way of a great story!
