First off:

I currently do not have cable in my studio apartment due to a mistake by the cable company - one of the very first controversies of these Olympic Games for me, as this unfortunately coincided with the start of the Games - and therefore have had to get my Olympic coverage from the internet this week. In doing so, I have been amazed by some of the articles that I have come across. The Pressing Topic: In analyzing the start to this 2007-2008 bowl season, I have to begin where most do. Advertising dollars, while helpful to bowl-participating schools, are ruining the authenticity and "toughness" of college football. I grew up as a Nebraska football fan (I'm now a Kansas fan since starting school at KU a year ago) and through the 1990's I watched NU participate in major bowl after major bowl, with names like the Rose, Cotton, and Orange Bowls. They repeatedly won conference championship games before the "Dr. Pepper Big-12 Championship"…

Hey sorry I didn't really understand that your comment was to me until just now. Now that we've seen how bad we can be in that Tech game, I'm thinking all of our games with the exception of next week's against K State look very loseable. I see us beating KSU and struggling in Lincoln (would not be surprised if we lost, but we should win a close game). Although I really felt we had a chance to beat Texas, I think that would be a bit too optimistic now, so I say we lose to Texas and go into the game against MU with a 50/50 shot. I think we CAN win, but it depends which team wants it more, and we didn't seem to want anything against Tech. But as a KU fan, I'm saying we'll finish 8-4 and play in the Big 12 title game. However, that could very easily end up being 6-6, as much as I hate to say it. Let's hope we get the D back in shape and maybe even win out.

Its always good to see a fellow jayhawk around, especially since i live in the heart of Texas and i just see longhorn fans thrown in with a couple of aggies. Anyway... I would like to ask a fellow ku fan their opinion on how this years football team will finish i am predicting a 9-3 finish with a loss to OU and Texas. I also think they will win the north over the tigers this year. write back i wanna see if i am naive or not. Rock-Chalk.
